Cold protection?

Unfortunately a mean cold front is coming to the south this weekend and I’m fishing for any tips to protect plants from frost.

All the potted plants will be coming in, and shorter plants will be covered. However Some plants are just to big to feasibly cover, so I was wondering if I could use small charcoal grills to just smolder overnight to create enough heat to keep the plants from freezing.

Anyone else have any kooky ideas?

I have used 2mm drop cloth and wood to build an enclosure around bananas if they aren't too tall. If too tall, I would wrap the stems with bubble wrap. Not sure which varieties you have but some bounce back from nightly lows in the 20s.

Some people use christmas lights wrapped around their citrus trees so that could possibly work?
