Caterpillars eat up a banana leaf

This is my first experience that numerous small green caterpillars eat up a
banana leaf. I therefore cut this leaf off and burned it.
I have thought very little harmfull insects give pest damages to banana plants.
Does anyone have the same experience with this?

Cutworms! oh noes. good thing you burned it! They're not as uncommon as you think, but they're not caterpillars either. If I recall correctly, they're fly grubs of some sort. If they come back, try spraying your tree with neem oil.
