![]() hello, i have a Williams dwarf growing, and i have 2 suckers that have grown to a nice size (2-3 feet) off the mother plant that currently has bananas on them. would it be ok to separate these suckers at this time or should i wait until the fruit has grown to size and ripen? these are sword suckers btw. i have plenty of other followers to use, i will be giving these 2 away to my brother. thank you guys.

![]() If your giving them to your brother why not let them in place for a couple more weeks. I'd make sure you not cutting the mothers roots in the process. I'd wait I until you can give him a big one & a smaller one.. :v)

![]() I do it all the time. Whether I should or not is another question, but I've never had a bunch not ripen because of it.

![]() It's OK, but you have to be a little careful. I have had some plants topple in the wind after I had removed a sucker.

![]() ^this. if you do, make sure to pack the hole back in with peat or something and water it in to stabilize the plant

![]() Much more damage and risk if you take the pup just before or during flowering. If flowering has progressed to the male stage, there is little risk. Disturb the parent plant's roots as little as possible. I wouldn't take more than one at this time.
