Lightbulb Can they be wet too long in searing heat 110+

Hello everyone,
I am new to bananas but have a fairly green thumb. I have 3 newly planted nanners that I am nursing through an Arizona summer. They were all planted in the past few weeks and are doing better than expected.
Now the test comes with the real heat, 105 is nothing after you deal with 115. There really is a huge difference. My plants are shaded with 30% from about 11 till 2 depending on the temps. I am being a little cautious because I planted them so late. I just started using a fogger that works great for cooling but some leaves are constantly wet and i need to know if this will be a problem. The soil doesnt appear to be getting saturated and I get natural shade after 3 so the water doesnt run all day. They sure look a little happier a half hour after the fogger goes on.
Thanks for the help
Larry

If the soil isn't soaked I'd say rock on... I don't water late but sometime more than once a day.. My banana's here that got 30-40% shade did better than full sun. :^)

Larry last banana I planted I built a simple cover of aluminum window screen. That gave my new plant just enough shade to prevent burning. I wonder if it might work for you just to cut some of the sun's direct heat.

The water on the leaves won't be a problem. Once established, your bananas will take the heat quite well and won't require misters or shade (although, i'm sure they would appreciate it).

I used misters in the greenhouse pictured in my avatar. I would run the misters for hours during the hottest part of the day. The leaves on the bananas would stay wet and I never had an issue. Like Abnshrek mentioned, if the soil isn't saturated, there shouldn't be any issues.

Las Vegas is a bit cooler than Mesa, but not by much. It reached 115F last summer and my bananas did fine. The key is good soil and appropriate watering. Here is the forecast for my area. I'm guessing Mesa will be even 3-5 degrees warmer! Good luck!
