can someone explain this?

i stopped by a local nursery the other day and picked up these dwarf cavendish i bought some last year from them and the leaves were real full and nice mine got 5 feet but they were in a bigger container these r the same bunch i just bought the guy had like 100 left over from last year still in 4 inch pots could that explain why the new leaves are shorter than the rest they put out 2 leaves since i had them and they r half the size as the older leaves or could this be a result of not enought sun light over winter time and they got as big as they could in those little pots or why do u think the new leaves are shorter and skinny?

Sounds to me like thery are probably root bound. No banana is going to do well very long in a 4" pot. In addition, they likely used up any nutrients available long ago as well.

Those plants got a little stunted in their little pots. Root bound like Brent said. Most nurseries cannot afford the luxury of their excess plants growing too well and taking up too much space, as a result of their controlled growth, this happens.

i have a qustion my dwarf cavendish 1 to 2 foot tall and there is no red spots on the plants there pups from mother plant

Not all Dwarf Cav pups will get the typical red blotching. Some go through their entire growth totally green.

Mine only hade blotches for the first 5 leaves then went stark green.....

That is fairly typical from what I have seen.
