What for? Why would you want to pot them then?

Pot them now so they don't freak out. You'll lose fronds if you dig them up and pot them while they are blooming. That's a lot of stress on the plant.

Not a good idea. You can do it, it's just not a good thing to do. Is it to prepare for winter? Wait as long as possible then or do it now.

Ya, better to leave them in the ground and hope for warm weather than digging them up. Destroying the root system is not good and your pretty much guaranteed to loose the fruit that way, at least leaving in the ground there is a chance. You can let them go as long as you can and harvest them young if you have to, they may still ripen fine. Then dig them up for storage after harvest.

I wouldn't till you can cut the fruit off.. :^) Get a couple blankets ready for frosts, but the days should be uneventful before you get them in. :^)
