Hello everyone!
![]() I first had a suspicion that my California Gold was going to bloom, 2 or 3 days ago, when the emerging leaf was unraveling really quickly. It looked shorter than the others, but this is the "first" flag which is only a few inches shorter, and I actually had to measure the leaf to prove myself right. The results, in inches, on various leaves going from oldest to newest are: 38, 39, 41, 36(newest one). Now, I can see the "second" flag emerging and it looks to be of actual substance, and I should be able to get a good picture of this "second" flag before I go on vacation this Saturday. Will I need to use a PVC stake on this, 5 foot tall, banana? Thanks! And this will be my first edible to bloom, I hope I can harvest the fruits of my labor!

A little less than 3 years! But take into consideration it was growing in Gabe's greenhouse, then shipped here, then winter 2 winters. It never was actually in the ground until last year.
