![]() Where do you guys go to buy banana corms or seeds online? I was looking at rarebananas.com. What places have you had success with and would recommend? Also, I live in Minnesota so would now be a good time to start one indoors or should I wait a couple of months until it warms up. I have a 400W HPS metal halide that I would start it under.
Thanks, Tim |

![]() If you are growing for fruit, then seedless bananas are only available in corms. There is general disenchantment with "Ty Ty" nursery in the town of the same name in Georgia - mainly for their advertising practices. Be careful, they have launched their business under multiple names.
One approach to buying is to post a new thread listing the varieties you want in the forum: Bananas for Sale or Swap & Wanted - Bananas.org Over the next several days folks will probably reply to this message with their favorite sources. I can give a strong recommendation for We Be Bananas

![]() Plant delights and Stokes Tropicals are top notch. I have also had good luck w/the Bananatree.com. There are a lot of dealers on EBay but be sure and read their feedback. -Nate

![]() By the way, I'm setting up an awesome platform to make it easier for all our members to post available plants here on the website. It's looking really good so far!
I wasn't happy with the existing way of just posting threads, I think plant sales deserve a special platform.

![]() So far I have only purchased from Stokes Tropicals. They send very nice plants although they can be pricey sometimes. If you check their website on a regular basis you can catch things on sale. Last year I bought a 'Bordelon' for $7 and an E. Maurelli for $11. I have an Ornata 'Milky Way' coming in from Brad's buds and blooms along with a heliconia. When it comes in I'll try to remember to post my opinion of what they sent. You can also get great plants by trading here.

![]() i love to order from the bananatree.com. the only problem is you really have to know your nanas. i ordered one and it turned out to be something totally different. im not complaining, you just have to watch out. i love my little charlie and he is a nana tree, just not sure of what kind he is. lol. rare nanas does ship big croms that are extreemly healthy. my orinoco that i got from there is over4 ft. tall with 5 huge leaves and is fixing to unwrap his 6th. you can see it in my gallery or in my album fun stuff with the monkey hanging from it.

![]() What is a good shipping temperature? It is still pretty cold here in Minnesota and I don't want to receive dead plants/corms. Thanks.
