Bug Eggs
 

I noticed today on a couple of leaves what looked like a smear of light colored clay, upon closer examination I found that it was a bunch of tiny little cream colored eggs. It was on the tops of the leaves. The leaves were not chewed up, nor did I see any sign of insects. Does anyone have any ideas ? It is 'Love-Bug" season here right now but I think that if it were them there'd be a lot more than a couple of those egg groupings among all of my plants.

What's with these Love Bugs? We've got them here in the Houston area again too! I went to have lunch with my wife one day when I was off from work last week and it is a bit more rural out where she works and oh my God, my windshield looks horrible now! We definitely didn't have these little dudes in KY where I grew up. I can hardly walk around the lawn without accidentally swallowing one!

Welcome to the deep South. Those nasty little bugs have been around my whole life. They are a real nuisance twice a year. The worst time for us here on coastal Louisiana is in Sept and Oct. You should clean the grill and hood of your car regularly or the dead bugs will destroy your paint job.

It's a good idea to spray Pam (the cooking stuff) or WD 40 on your vehicle,it keeps them from sticking and getting baked in. Those things are a plague from Hell !! They are so nasty that nothing will even eat them, frogs,birds,lizards.....nothing.

The eggs are too tiny to take a good picture,it just looks like a beige colored smear on the leaf. i'll get my camera manual out and see if there is a way to get a super duper close up.
