I went out to water and check my plants today and one of them has a broken leaf. This is a new leaf that just fully opened. This guy is one of my favorites. He survived the "mystery critter" who downed him; was dug up and planted in a pot for awhile. Was doing great, and just getting used to his new space in the ground. Should I cut the leaf, or just let Nature take it's course? Will the next leaf push out without intervention?

Anna,
I had one of my plants to do the same thing. I just left the leaf on the plant as long as it was still Green, once it started to die I cut it. The other new Leaf should have no problem coming out. Hope this helps. -Frank- |

I've got at least three broken leaves still hanging on a couple of plants. I would leave it there, as it is still providing needed energy for the plant.

Anna, Leave ANYTHING that is green, regardless of looks, shape, orientation, or whatever. Green is ALWAYS good.

I'm leaving it alone. But I have to tell you - I did go out today and gently lift the leaf to look inside for a sign of another new leaf. There is one!
