Break it off or prop it up?
I planted some small banana plants 2 days ago, and wouldn't ya know it, a massive thunderstorm hit with damaging winds and pelting rain last night! So I went outside to survey the damage, and some of the leaves were bent down to the ground (bends at the base of the plant). Should I break them off or prop them up in hopes of nature mending them up? I'm a newbie in the banana world...
Thanks, Dave (Zorro) |
Re: Break it off or prop it up?
Propping won't do any good.Just leave them be and cut them off when they turn brown

Re: Break it off or prop it up?
If the whole trunk is folded, cut it off below the fold. If just some leaves are folded, let them be. When they turn yellow or brown, remove them. Anything green is always, always good.
