I was reading about blue java bananas in an article and was completely fascinated with the plant. I've been calling my local nurseries here Austin TX but none seem to have one. Can someone help?

Here are a couple of reputable banana plant online sales and there are others on this forum. I have ordered from both places. Beware though, there are some really bad places to order from like TY-TY. Ask about a mail order place first and you will get some good advice.

No, not to me anyway. They do make very good banana ice cream if you freeze them when fully ripe and put them in a blender until they have the consistency of soft serve. I make it without any added sugar and just a touch of soy or coconut milk to get it to blend.

I just went back and looked up where I got my Ice Cream--it was Green Earth. Does anyone know if the Ice Cream from there was true?

Most of the Ice Creams on the mainland US are not the real thing. There are a few places and people that have the real one. San Diego Botanical Gardens has the real deal.

my blue java ended up being something else. I was wondering if there is anyone in the U.S. Who has a real blue java, is willing to sell me a few.

I have a true blue Java and it stays in a pot. Grows too tall and winds are a problem here. Got it from Wormfarmer and saw it full size and the fruit. Will auction it off one day.

It might be worth a try up here in Santa Clara because the winds aren't too bad here. Cold is a problem here though.
