![]() I would like to know as well!! And while at it, I have been unable to find Ensete maurelii .
ALSO, where did you get your glaucum seeds? I tried internet and was sent grass seed, so no more of that without strong references and ongoing business. |

![]() Yes, I left off the ventricosum to speed things up :-) I do not believe there is any other Ensete with a maurelii in it, so figured the sloppy shorthand would not be misunderstood :-)
I have lots of the straight ventricosum (green form) plants - happy to trade one for a glaucum - but fear that by the time you get a decent sized plant, mine will be huge (they are 2' now (the pstem) with leaves 4-5' :-( |

![]() My method could be wrong but I’ve had good success!
I make sure my seeds are dried 100% in normal air conditions in the shade. Then I use a high quality zip lock bag. One that will not allow any air or moisture in! Put all the dry seed inside. After than I toss in a few packs of silica beads to keep them dry! In my opinion dry = no mold or fungus! Next I store them at room temp and in the dark!!

![]() And then freeze? (For VERY long term storage. . .). ALL of our seeds are stored in a refrigerator if not frozen (freezing preferred) - fridge also assures that if need stratification it has been done (though some need special treatment, so need to know that there might be more to stratfication than simply storing in fridge. I have not frozen banana seeds, but other tropicals without issue. Some "wet" seeds as well, but can't think of any which were tropical.

![]() I also store all non tropical seed in the freezer. It always scared me to freeze banana seed but I would for sure freeze them if to be kept longer than 3-4 years.
