Default best fruit ?

Hi All ,
I tried some lady finger bananas from Mediahound and they were very flavorfull and far different from the "grocery store varieties " . This made me realize that with all of the work one would need to do to get fruit in my zone I would need to grow a more exotic flavor to justify the labor . It would kill me if someone tasted one of my fruits and said "Wow , just like the ones from the market " .
Could any of you suggest some good candidates ?
They must be small varieties so that they can be brought in to the garage without heavy equipment .
I had planned to get several cavendish types but ,again , if they taste like grocery store bananas.....
Perhaps y'all can help me to rule out those types as well .
Thanks ,
Pete
