Left to Right.. SH3640, D Red, Fhia-02, Hoa Moa, Njalipooven, Datil, William's Hybrid (real small), Pisang Raja, Goldfinger (the biggest).. The pots are sitting in 24" or 26" plastic hot water heater pans w/ a 1" plug. :^)

I grow elephant ears for greens because its hard to grow other "regular" greens during the summer here (bugs are horrible) |

How often do you folks water your large banana plants? Do you thoroughly soak or just sprinkle? I noticed mounds of mulch around the banana plants in your pictures. Does that mean you water less often? Can you get away with not watering for over a week in the summer (without rain)?
I'm still new at this and need all the advice I can get. |

watering frequency is going to depend on your soil type too... if you use a lot of perlite like me, you will need to water more frequently. i water every other day, sometimes more frequently if it's really hot out
