Re: Bananas.org Members Yard Photos
Tangy, that rockwall is super cool. I'm thinking of making hypertufa rock to surround my pond sides. Half of it is above ground and I don't really care for the wood surround.
Great link, Jarred! |

Re: Bananas.org Members Yard Photos
I love the pond pics, especially the giant amazon waterlilies in your gallery. Do they survive the winters there?

Re: Bananas.org Members Yard Photos
No, they're not hardy here. I sure wish! I'm not even sure if they're hardy even as far north as northern Florida.
Thanks for the nice comments. My bananas aren't all what they should be in the yard this year. The ones in the greenhouse for sale are great this year though. Something had to give time-wise, so it was some of my personal landscaping in the yard.

Re: Bananas.org Members Yard Photos
I am reluctant to do this. It feels.... odd. It feels like I am showing a thief everything in my house and giving him a map before he gets here. But nobody here would do that, so no worries!
I know, I know. Not very tropical. Sorry guys... Lots more pics in the gallery. Feel free to take a look and give me suggestions about what would make it better. |

Re: Bananas.org Members Yard Photos
Thanks Kylie! it is nice here, truly. But it has been a little dry this year. But it is funny that all week long on the weather channel, "Scattered Showers, Isolated T-Storms" Etc, but we never get any of it!

We will be there starting Wednesday Aug 1. I will planting a Saba in front(palmetto bvld side) of our beach house and hope the wind will not destroy it. There is nice stand producing some Orinocos down by Dockside restaurant. Stop by and say hi.

Re: Bananas.org Members Yard Photos
[/IMG]Great photos everyone. This is a great thread to get ideas from. I have a few bananas and other tropicals, most of my yard is plants easily grown in my area. Front and sides I did not show, just hostas and azaleas, etc. Well, here's some of my favorites.
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [/IMG] I hope not to many pics of the same thing! |
