Is it possible to have too many Bananas? If I add up all the bananas I have fruiting, I think I'll have at least a 1000 pounds of fruit in a few months. Just thought I'd share a few pics...

Brag, Brag, Brag, lol, just kidding. Needed something else to say besides WOW!
They really look great. Since they can be canned, dried and frozen as well I myself could find a use for them though I might get tired of banana after a while, bet it would last all year! |

Thanks for all the compliments, but I think "Mother Nature" did most of the work. I just helped out a little. I think I have at least twenty different bunches going now...which means once the B's are eaten, I'll have a lot of future compost to contend with...

Great pics! Let us know how you like the taste of the Ice Cream fruit. I didn't care for them much and gave away all my plants.
Love the FHIA-18! hmmmm, gonna have to find room for one of those! Goldfinger is good, but I like SH3640 better - all a matter of personal taste. |

Jetstream, does your Ice Cream have white stripes on the bracts as they open? I'm curious to hear from another Ice Cream grower as to weather or not that is a typical characteristic.

I am hoping to get "established" enough in the Online Banana community, to get to a chance visit Pitangadiego's gardens... We are just down the road a bit. :-)

Cute...but no banana...I ride a HARLEY dude. Maybe I'll have to load it up with bananas for this years Daytona Biketoberfest. On the way over, I can stop off at the Cabbage Patch in Samsula and instead of nude coleslaw wrestling...they can party with my 'nanas...later...Z

A club I used to go to many years ago had contests that involved lovely young things and eating bananas.
Bottle of champaign to the winner. NOW I know what got me interested in wine and growing these things. Terry Last edited by tlturbo : 09-15-2005 at 01:35 PM. |
