Default Bananas fruiting

Gadget was over today to do a little banana trading and I noticed I had more bananas blooming than I thought. I have two Rajapuris that have been ripening since September.... taking forever. I also have what I think is a Brazillian red as well as a Mysore, and last but not least, while we were out selecting pups Gadget noticed that the goldfinger was fruiting also. Guess I need to start paying more attention lol!

LOL, yeah, both you and AnnaJW don't seem to be staring at your bananas enough!

How cold did you get this winter? Did you protect your Raja Puri bunches? I have one which I over-wintered as well, keeping it covered with a bag. I got down to either 28F or 30F and lots the leaves.

I think it got at least that cold if not colder, I did nothing to protect any of the bananas at all. Every banana for himself. If they are not tough enough I dont want them in my unit lol! I just dont have time to to take the care to keep them protected. I did not lose any banana plants over the winter at all, guess I got lucky.

I didn't protect my plants either (except for my Ae Ae in the greenhouse and a few other tiny plants) but I did have a garbage bag over my bunch of fruit.
