Default Bananas in Bermuda

Hello all,
I have moved from Alabama to Bermuda for a job, not for sure how long it will last but I put some photos of some local bananas in the member's galleries. I don't know what kind they are but they are mostly thick and stocky, kinda like a Raja Puri. I will try and post more photos when I can. Thanks
Bo

<3 Bermuda. Ive never been there yet but it sure looks like paradise! It has a similar latitude to Savannah, GA but it has coconut palms thriving and a record low temperature in the low 50s! The banana plants are looking very nice and very cavendish like to me also. I wonder how much planting space someone has in a yard in bermuda?

Thanks Gabe, I have posted a couple of more pics in the members galleries of some bananas down by my apt. They look like Raja Puri to me, but I'm no expert. Thanks
Bo

I posted some more photos of bananas here in Bermuda in members galleries, sorry I can't post here for some reason.
These are down by my apt. and there are alot of this type in the area. It is a small size fruit and very tasty, It has a very shaggy type flower and stands about 8 ft. tall, I think it's a Raja Puri but I'm not for sure
Thanks
Bo

Gabe has blown up two of Hydroid's threads within one post of the opener. Hydroid, just assume that the only bananas growing in Bermuda are DC. LOL

Bo,
Glad you made it there ok. With that mild of climate there is bound to be others there. Glad Danniel missed you. We have had enough rain for a storm here. You couldn't do much digging in your yard now! Send more pics.

Charles

WOW!!! that shows you how much I know about bananas, he he. I can't tell one from another, as hard as I try. I knew that if anyone would know it would be Gabe (thanks again).

Hey Charlie, great to hear from you, I'm not for sure how long I will stay here as there has been some miss comunication on my contract. But I my be going by Home Depot if I get home and get a Dwarf Cavendish. I'll keep you posted. Thanks
Bo

Sorry to hear about the miss comunication. Hopefully it won't cost you money.

That why I tied the colored ribbons on the bananas when I raided your yard. Now if I could just find that color key chart. LOL I have several new pups coming on and I hope to post some comparison pictures next week as they will have been in the ground two months. If you have to return we'll get together.

Thanks,
Charles
