![]() a few thoughts.
you know those little packets of ketchup, mustard, syrup and hot sauce you have been throwing away. in my gallon jug of whatever, mainly fish fertilizer, coffee and beer, makes a mix that is potent. putting it around the plants lightly once a week is too much. some plants say OUCH, but not all. i have never over fertilized my bananas before. holes in leaves on some, a little brown edging on the leaves on some, but all in all they have not been hurt. i just slacked off for a month. the difference between not fertilizing last year and heavy fertilizing this year is a world of difference. my plants this year have jumped remarkably.

![]() Every little bit helps I suppose especially if it attracts bugs and worms to help compost. I have tons of pill bugs in my yard and around my nanners.

![]() i opened a steel can of olives last night, looked at it and said i wonder.
i found out if you fill the steel can with compost and bury it upright it will give your plant water and as it rusts...iron. i guess those steel cans will not make it to the garbage anymore. i have also learned that straight coffee out of the pot is a no-no. you have to water it down to a very weak tea.

![]() i have found with all the ingredients you put in a milk jug tends to be a bit strong for fertilizing. and forget the beer, its pretty much worthless.
once you get a gallon milk jug filled, pour it in a 5 gallon bucket and fill it with water. then pour it around your plants,

![]() a few good days. i see cigar leaves starting to push up. most of my pups coming up in are in mats that i planted last year. it might be from the ash from the wood i burnt before i planted the mothers, or it could be the fresh compost and cow manure. i have near a dozen.

![]() Man I couldn’t waste my Coca Cola on my plants haha. Crazy idea and if it’s working. What about attracting fire ants? They have gotten worse here in the last few years. Sometimes they hide nest under the mulch in my beds. Love to mess with my potted stuff too. Come up from the ground inside my greenhouse sometimes too or come in hiding in potted plants.

i dry an old 2 liter soda bottle for ants, something sweet and just a touch of the drink in it for some sugar. when its dry i put in some amdro, lay it on its side so it won't get rain in it. the ants smell the sugar and eat the amdro. amdro will not work when wet.
