Exclamation Banana Tree Growing Smaller Leaves HELP

Hey guys
I have a small banana tree, it looks like a dwarf cavendish but I’m not sure. When I bought it it had some big leaves, now it’s growing them smaller and smaller, but they look very green and beautiful.
It is a plant growing indoors, everything looks okay, but I don’t know why it’s happening? I changed the container now, I thought it could be lack of space, but if it isn’t, what can I do? I’d really like it to grow big leaves!

Thanks for the quick reply!
So when I bought it I did nothing else other than place it on the sunniest warmer place of the house. I bought it over winter.
My doggies actually ate the bigger leaves recently unfortunately, I got pissed!!!
Anyways keep that in mind while seeing the pictures. (this happened way after the leaves started growing smaller).
I also noticed the stem is kinda red. I bought it like that.
I'm also a beginner in this banana tree thing and gardening in general, please don't judge!! I'm looking forward to learn

1) Get it in a bright sun light location, but no direct sun light.

2) The humidity in the house is very low, due to AC, drying the leaves. These plant were grown in a green house and/or were in a shade house under a misting system. The big box store you bought it from, wet the plant down a couple of time a day. ...SO mist your plant 2 or 3 times a day in the house. Bananas can take in a large amount of water this way. Foliar feeding with miracle grow. It should show improvements soon.

3) Be sure the potting soil drys out between watering. Get and use a long stem moisture meter to check moist deep in the pot and though the pot drain holes.

4) OH ... Your pot does have drain holes doesn't it??? If not the plant will be dead in another 6 months. ... The water must drain out of the pot and the pot drain holes should be raised above the drainage.

Thank you!!
The plant is in a bright indirect sunlight place in the house though! And yes, yes it does have good drainage!
I’ll try the misting thing, see if it does the trick!
Thank you!

VirgiB,

I would never recommand Cypress trees. Cypress knees tear up more lawnmowers.

The pic's look like it may have been choked and popped out. Leaves can bind up in the stem and will force their way out. Let it grow it will work its way out.
If your pic's are not loading in the gallery they may be too large, they should be 2MB or smaller. Here's a pic to show you what I mean By a choke.
