Banana Pups Questions

Okay, so let me start from the beginning here...

I live in NY and moved my potted basjoo into the garage for winter (my ceilings are too low to house indoors like last year). since we had a really harsh winter, one day i saw that all the leaves dropped down even though the p-stem was wrapped and all with towels. i brought it inside loosing all but one leaf (which eventually came off).
when i had the pant in the basement, it quickly shot out a new frail leaf, that was yellow white since it wasn't getting any light, this new leaf never even fully opened up.
since the ceilings were still too tall for the plant, i wrapped the top of the pot in plastic wrap to contain the soil, and positioned it horizontally on the floor.

the plant stayed like this until i noticed that there was a small pup trying to poke through the plastic wrap. since the frail leaf was on its way out anyway, i put the plant back vertically, bending the leaf slightly downward to fit properly.

after uncovering the plastic and giving a slight watering/ misting, about 3 days later i noticed 2 other pups emerging. the pups were yellow white because there is no light, so i ended up moving the plant to an area by glass sliding doors to bring the green pigment back since the leaf on the main stem was dead.

the pups are growing strong now, and looking bright green as ever, however i am curious as to what will happen to the main stem once i move it outside! i slightly unraveled the top part of the plant (like when you gently peal back the outer layers of corn to see the actual edible part within) and saw that there was a slightly dried pale leaf that looked like it would be poking out very soon. this leaf has not budged one bit in about 3 weeks....

I will try to post a few pictures here of the pups, but let me explain.

two of them are coming out of the soil which obviously will both have their own root systems, however, the third and largest so far did not come out of the ground, but instead pushed its way out of the bottom of the main plants P-stem! Its coming right out of the flesh of the original plant!

so my question to all you fellow nana lovers/ enthusiasts out there is this...

will my original stem shoot new leaves when brought outside, or is this pup that came out the bottom of the plants trunk trying to tell me the original p-stem is dead, and that that is the new "original" plant, with 2 new pups? does that make sense??

a quick tid bit, the stem looks healthy as ever! except for the very bottom where the new shoot pushed through, there the outer layers that were cut when it came through browned and got slightly mushy so i pealed off that layer, it still has that pinkish hue to the stem until you go further up.
towards the top of the stem it gets slightly more brownish and thinner, but thats in all nana plats.

Ive been trying to keep the tip top of the plant dry (where that little leaf was poking out of) because it seems like there was some mold growing on one layer.

now that i wrote you a novel, I hope someone can answer my questions! thanks in advance!

If I understand you, the top of the parent plant has not signs of life (leaves) at the top of the pseudostem. If that is correct, you are probably seeing the plant regenerating from the corm, which is then pushing through the deal leaf petioles. Not uncommon.

thanks the info there! and yea there are no leaves, however the stem is still very solid and feels alive. would this just get cut down then? how would i go about doing that??

this pic kinda shows the whole stem, no leaves but that one little rolled up tip that never made it out...

in this next one, you can see the new stem coming out the side of the original...

this pic kind of shows the little leaf i was talking about. (im pointing to it with my finger)... trust me its the tip of a rolled up leaf

you can see it poking out the right side of the stem here...

close up of it first poking out...

hope those helped!
