Banana ID
Today I was at a local international grocery, and they were selling the variety of banana pictured below. The sign said that they were "Thi Bananas." I don't know whether that's a cultivar name or just a misspelling of "Thai." Is there any chance that this banana is Kluai Hom Thong, Gros Michel, the banana that they used to sell in the US until the 1950s? If not, what kind is it?

Re: Banana ID
Not Gros Michel. Looks like a Bluggo type. Those green ones on the upper left are something else, Saba perhaps?

Re: Banana ID
Telling folks, FNB, where you purchased your bananas would be helpful. In MD and OH I never saw anything but "Chiquitas" even though I'm a rabid ethinic market shopper. In Fl we get all sorts of "something else" at little markets though mostly Sabas, baby bananas and apples. (I'm sitting here giggling thinking your real name is Sue... Which is fine. I'm known as Harold and also George at a few places though Jack is my best bender moniker.)

Re: Banana ID
I hope someone from that area can help you find your answer. Or someone who knows this fruit chimes in. Sadly I can't assist. Are you wanting to grow your own fruit? If so, edit your profile to show (generally) where you live so others in your area/zone can better assist you; starting a thread on the new member section will give you a lot of exposure. If you're just seeking to know what you purchased, that's fine; this forum has some very knowledgeable and giving participants so someone will answer your query in good time.
ETA: Was there a little sticker on the bunch? You can get some information from them.
