Hello,

I work in the city of Karlsruhe. 30 large bananas, I ahab given for the stadtgarten / Zoo Karlsruhe.
In May, the bananas are planted.Oktober they are re-potted. In the winter they will be in a heated hall as decorations for exhibitions.

Here is a Musa sikkimensis with 7.20 meters height

Musa Brazilian with more then 5 meters height


Ensete ventricosum

Ralf, are those potted plants the same ones that were planted at your house? Were they ever actually planted in the ground or left in the containers? If they were in the ground and dug up to put in containers did they go into shock at all? They look so healthy it's hard to believe they were transplanted.

My banana in front of the house come winter in the apartment. Musa basjoo and sikkimensis become a protection in the outdoors.
The bananas in the hall are taken each year from the pot and planted in the ground.
Make the bananas do not much consequence.
