Default April nanner arrival #1 Dwarf Namwah/Pisang Awak! (sddarkman619)

Finally the weather has "warmed" up (barely -__-) enough in the midwest.

I ordered it from forum member's sddarkman619's store. Plant is beautiful and looks healthy and well taken care of. It also recovered quickly from the shipping stress and within a couple of days is already pushing out a new cigar leaf. Would definitly buy from him/them again! (ssdarkman if you are reading this, thank you!)

If any of you have any tips or advice for Dwarf Namwah--especially container grown in colder climates, would love to hear it

Pics below.

First was taken on day it arrived.

Second was just short bit ago, showing the cigar leaf that has already pushed out of it--

Thank you for the tips I am happy to hear about the perlite--

I've got a Super Dwarf Cavendish in African Violet potting soil. It's doing great, but with each pot-up I am finding it too heavy for *me*. I have a small frame and carrying this guy from one place to the other is actually starting to hurt my back just a little. I am guessing it's all the water the banana plant itself cause plants I got in larger pots don't even weigh as much. (Whoah boy that's gonna be fun pushing that pot around when the Dwarf Namwah reaches maturity! )

Time to get some perlite and re-adjust the potting mix of the SDC.
