I had a couple of basjoo from a tc'd batch of basjoo, they were variegated when they were smaller, but when they got to be about a foot and a half, they apparently outgrew it and became all green. I think it looks like that one is doing that too. They started out with big white patches, and then they got smaller and went away on the newer leaves.
That would be a bummer to pay that much for one and have it do that. Of course, that may also be legit.

I've seen the parent, and it was variegated all the way.
It went for £310 ($620) how mad is that!!?? most expensive banana plant in the world maybe? anyone know of a more expensive one

Yep. I sold an Ae ae on ebay for £345 to the same buyer for a 6inch plant. Also a seperate deal was done for a two ft plant total price £1,500 ...........
