Anyone successfully grown musella in Florida?

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has successfully grown musella lasiocarpa (yellow Chinese banana) in south Florida. I've planted one in sun and shade here in SW Florida and they are just really stunted. Perhaps they cant take the summer heat here?

I'm not in Florida, I'm in Texas but have had no success in growing them here.
