Another Raju Puri flag leaf
Couple days ago the paddle leaf appeared today the flag has arrived!
The other one 48 fingers, and 8 hands, anyone care to guess what this one will do? There both about the same size, but this one might have longer leaves. As the other appears to have bunchy leaves. |

Re: Another Raju Puri flag leaf
You folks further north are putting me to shame this year! My 'Raja Puri' has been in the ground for 2 1/2 yrs and still hasn't bloomed. It's about the same size as yours, Tropicman. It should be getting close...but I keep saying that. Same for my 'Ice Cream'.

Re: Another Raju Puri flag leaf
You really need to feed them a lot.
I plant mine right where I compost everything, then feed weekly with Miracle Grow, and Epsom salt. Water every night too! |

Re: Another Raju Puri flag leaf
The fruit is similar in flavor (but better) to market bananas.

Re: Another Raju Puri flag leaf
I agree,a little smaller,but lot more flavor.
I let mine fruit ripen completely on the tree and brought the families of some of the people I work with and let there children pick there own bananas to eat, they were tickled pink!!!! Not many kids get to do this growing up,I never did,and this will be something they can remember for the rest of their lives. |
