Default Aeae and florida planted

I did my best to find some shade for them. Its not ideal, they are going to get a lot of mid day sun planted between some avocado trees. Its really hot and dry here...

I had the pups in 3gal pots and moved to 5 then 10 gal pots over summer. Thry grew quite a bit, I was just waiting for summer to end to plant them so they didnt get completely toasted.

Heres an update, the variegated pups are growing nicely now. Ive been hitting them with a lot of mulch and fertilizer and water to make them grow fast.

Those look great. They are growing so much faster than mine. All the heat you get out there really makes a difference.

Bill the red one was supposed to be dwarf red. It was a tissue culture from one of the questionable sellers in FL so who knows for sure. Probably a dwarf red but its getting really tall. Its the same tree I posted pics of as dwarf red last year.

Stay safe out there. My brother inlaw lives in long beach, he had a little mayhem on his street this week.

Hi Spaugh

That red musa, is definitely a dwarf red or tall red and it looks beautiful. Kru has a bio coloured red/pink and green p-stem which is also noticeable on the petiole.kru also has burgundy colour underside of the leaves near the edges.

So it's been 100F and single digit humidity here the last couple days. These plants seem to be doing fine. Seems like the difficulty to grow or sensitivity to heat and sun maybe is overstated. But we will see how it goes over this summer, so far, it looks like they will be doing fine. Both plants have lots of pups coming up and growing really well.
