![]() This is my little Ae Ae pup ive been nursing along for the last few months. When I gave away the mom (3ft tall, in a 5gal for 2 years), I noticed a tiny little pup that hadnt even broke the soil yet, I popped it off and grew the tiny corm in pure sphagnum moss and kept warm and sunny and it seems to be doing good now, it has also grown lots of roots. Always remember, never give up on a banana, if you plant it, it will grow (with enough love

![]() Gabe did you give it any bottom heat at all ? I ask because I have three on my plant that will probably die off over the winter. I am thinking about removing the larger one.

![]() If you think all 3 will die off anyway, why not take them all off Mark. If you can't look after them all, I would be more than happy to take one off your hands and give it a go

![]() I started this out with lots of heat in a growth chamber at school, it sounds fancy but its really not, I had this exact same container in a gallon size zip-loc freezer bag for a few weeks in the chamber keeping it warm , from 70-80°F, after it grew roots in there and started to sprout a little I took it home and set it on top my fluorescent growlight fixture with a small inclosement over it. It took about 2 months to get to how big it is now.

![]() Gabe I decided to go with removing the two smaller pups. I was supprised to see a decent sized corm on both so I have put one in sphagnum and one in acid soil mixed with pearlite and put both in my propogator. They both had a good root system too.

![]() Its just a standard gro master made by sankey about 2ft x18" pre set at about 70 nothing flash.I also use to have a 3ft square propogator that I made my self used with a heated cable with a thermostat. filled with sand it worked ok but it was better for cuttings and starting off my aroids. I still have it but it takes up too much room in my polytunnel. I have two other props that are full of banana seeds and I think I probably need another.

![]() Just a quick up date on the two pups I removed.
Both are showing signs of growing as they both have a tiny tip emerging from the corms trunk and its only been 9 days. I removed the larger pup today aswell seeing that the other two have started growing. Suprisingly this one had the least amount of roots on it. ![]() Looks like it will be a merry christmas after all
