Great read. AE AE's have been around since the 50's and they are still expensive!

I suppose there is no hope for prices coming down. I'm hoping to get a tour of his property and convince him to pass along his ae ae's to another admirer

Yes, there is hope for the prices to come down on Ae Ae! Tissue cultured Ae Ae plants could be right around the corner...stay tuned.

Hi Sean, I've tried to grow Ae Ae here in North Texas but they are not easy to grow.I gave this opinion on another garden forum in the banana section and no one would believe me.I asked them to send me a picture of there mature mat of Ae Ae.Everyone said they had seen mature Ae Ae but only a couple of people send in pictures and none better loking than yours.I think the % of Ae Ae that die are much higher than 50%.Several people had first year pictures but only two mature plants. If people in southern states have trouble growing the bananas then northerners have little chance at all.Several of the people that were mad were the Ae Ae sell who did not want me running of potential customers. Thanks for the pictures. john
