Here is my Ae Ae as of this afternoon. It is really starting to show some white now that its getting it's feet in the ground. I was a bit worried when it was in the container that it would never have much pure white color. This is the newest leaf.:2711:

ok, so that went up very fast. Æ Æ is one of my Fav bananas. BTW I just learned how to do that ae connected ( its ALT 0198 let up on the ALT) I told Taylor yesteray that it would get to 50 before the end of the week, I had no clue it would hit 60 by today.

Re: Ae Ae on Ebay!!

If you really want know do an ebay completed auction search. It's scary how popular they are, ie, how much they go for. I think I might go buy this other 8 footer that I know of down the road from me for $250 and plant it near my other Ae Ae.

I told my wife last night that had I known about AE AE's before I planted all my Bananas I would have bought every last one I could find and start an Ae Ae ebay business. For about a grand I could covered my yard with them and been rolling in the dough by now. Oh well, live and learn.

Someone bidding told me of this site. I am the one selling the AeAe. They usually sell for around $125. Anyone have questions, let me know.

Right now I have 2 mother plants and about 4 pups. Last year I sold a whole bunch of pups and didn't replenish the mothers. They fruit after about 2 years for me and they have a great taste.

I live in Hollywood, Fl which is right by Ft. Lauderdale (I forget what zone I am in). As far as care, they don't get anything special at all believe it or not. I fertilize a few times a year with 8-10-10 or something similar. They are in regular dirt and cypress mulch. They are protected on both sides by houses so they only get sun for about 5 hours a day as anymore than that would kill the white and make it brown. I never water them unless there is no rain for at least a week, besides that they only get rain water as too much doesn't seem to do well. That's all I can think of for now, anything else just ask.

Re: Ae Ae on Ebay!!

I agree with PAPAK.

I lived about 10 miles West of him and had the same situation. It was planted in the entry way of the house with a 10 ft wall on one side and a 15 ft entryway on the other. Only got direct sun about 3 - 5 hrs a day. It got watered by the sprinkler and fertilized once about every 45 days. It was in Home Depot top soil and organic humus mixed together when I did the area. It was about 4 ft when planted (I had it in a pot for over year, just sitting in the side yard). It took another 1 1/2 years to fruit.

If you remember, last year I moved to West Palm and brought the corm with me. In a large pot it put out over 15 pups of which I sold a lot on e-bay. Hurricane Wilma flooded the pot and it sat in water over a week and rotted. Now I have one 2 ft pup in a pot I'm babying. I had to look at my old e-bay pics because I would have sworn the current pic on e-bay was my old one - close but not the same pic.

I'm patiently waiting on this one to get bigger. They are slow.

Are you offering them here or on ebay?

Re: Ae Ae on Ebay!!

I can sell them on here, I generally don't use ebay to sell my corms.
