Default Ae Ae...almost

Well the frost won in the end. Today the flower bud bent the spindly stalk in half so I cut the plant at ground level and will hope for pups. Here is a picture of the first Ae Ae fruits to emerge from the flower. Close but no cigar!

Bummer Mitchel,

But I found that a corm that looses it's one big plant tends to become a pup factory. Remember the AE-AE corm I had in a pot 2 years ago after I cut the trunk down to move? That corm put out 14 pups in about 8 months.

Have faith - Terry

You know Terry, after seeing your plant send all those pups that was my plan for this one when I bought it. I thought I'd just let it get established then chop the top off and wait for pups. Well the frost has given me my wish I suppose. Funny thing is this plant had two little pups emerging when I planted it and they shriveled up and died while the plant grew. I think it's been in the ground for about 6 months now so we'll see what happens.
