![]() As our days grow shorter and the heat subsides, my two container bananas are starting to reduce the number of leaves they're supporting. I have a 7' Black Thai and a 5' Saba that have dropped down to supporting 4 leaves from 7 or 8, one month ago. I actually potted them up to the 7 gallon from a 5 gallon during that time period. Any theories?

![]() How are the leaves being lost? Are they turning yellow/brown or are they just falling down flat while green?

![]() I have the same thing happening--I think the shorter days and lower light just makes the marginal leaves fall below the critical compensation level.

![]() Cooler nights, especially, will cause this in addition to lower daytime highs. Should be nothing to worry about.
