Temperature
I have now had my seeds over three weeks in moist vermiculite, yet no of them have germinated. Musa ornata, musa acuminata and musa velutina is the seeds I got.
I use an aquarium heater, and have it on 10 hours a day on 34°C, and it will be room temperature in the night. I will now buy seeds of Ensete, Musella and Ravenala madagascariensis. Should they have the same? Gard |

I'm just as patient with germination as with postings unfortunately... :0491:

Re: Temperature
3 weeks is not very long, if they take 3 months that is still not out of the question.

Re: Temperature
Well, have patience as everyone has said. I have been waiting on some sikkimensis seeds to pop all summer long. I will say I have had good luck with the put them in a baggie of water to soak and forget them. I have 4 nice sized thomsonii seedlings which germinated in the water and I transferred them to peat pots back in June. They are now about a foot tall.

Re: Temperature
Germinating in just water? Sounds cool.
Well, I hope my seeds will germinate soon. I have put them a little colder, so around 55-60°F in the night. Hope that will make them wake up. :2742: Gard |
