Musa velutina

This looks to me to be a very attractive addition to the plantation. Has anyone gotten plants from seed for this ? Does anyone have any seed to sell? Thanks

They are very easy to grow from seed. I have not done so personally, but I hear that they have a great germination rate! Dont grow them for the fruit, you will be disappointed, however, it will fruit in a matter of 2 years from seed and its pretty cold tolerant too! In a zone 9, it will survive the winter and probably fruit at about 4-8 feet tall. They fruit at taller heights as they age.

I like that, easy from seed. My luck this year is a little low but is coming up slowly. Hope I find some fresh seed soon. Thanks

It is one of the types of Musa that readily germinates from seed. I have had the fruit drop to the ground and then had seedlings a few months later sprouting beneath the parent mat. I just harvested 200+ seed from some fruit that was on the mother plant about 6 weeks ago. Sent you a PM with additional info.
