Are you Overseas...

Save you money.....
Maybe another member might add some great info too.

Do a search within the forum for the plant you want.......Ingens.
You might find a better prospect.
Real Ingens is a Unicorn and you will soon find it out......

Keep trying though.

The sad truth is....... internet folks are selling this plant with ZERO credibility for the last 10 years.

Do you want giant?

If you want a beast plant that will impress with size......look up musa Saba...pure banana monster.

Yes, Saba is a far better prospect. Unfortunately the whole business of buying seeds on ebay has gone to pot as there are so many Chinese sellers flogging all sorts of weird and wonderful unicorn-type plant seeds to the unsuspecting public, making huge profits on an untraceable commodity, and once they discovered that Ingens was so expensive they jumped on that bandwagon. Some of the current European sellers may well reside in China and have simply altered their declared home country. You can often buy Ingens seeds from rarepalmseeds.com in Germany and I know for sure that Tobias runs a very straight-dealing business having bought many seeds from them. He and his good lady have an enviable, cast iron reputation dealing in numerous types of rare seeds, many of which are obscure types of palm that purists and collectors prize very highly. There is no way for ordinary folk like us to check the other sellers so we have to rely on trust.
I had a seedling Saba and it simply rocketed away, with a big fat p-stem and lush, strong leaves. It's a beautiful strain. Sadly I killed it by overwatering the first winter, and have been trying to replace it ever since. At least if you buy one of those it isn't such a holy grail as Ingens, so not as highly priced. I lost a £30 plant, not a £1000 one. If you weren't there when the Ingens seeds were harvested then you can only rely on reputation. How long would it take until your 'Ingens' seeds were provably genuine or not?

Hi thanks for the answers!

Yes SABA is a great and very thankfully banana,
I had it but it was a very big and healthy plant, I have give them as a donation at a big greenhouse.
I am fascinated in ingens because its a wild species and never in my life saw a plant or seedling of them.
I know that they can reach size enormely but for this it must be ideal conditions.
Seller on ebay is from USA (Puerto Rico) Puerto Rico is USA? I never had understand Status correcte from Puerto Rico… Sorry I am from Europe…
Recensions are mostly positive from people who had bought Musa ingens.
Yes the point with the chinese sellers is saadly correct…
Since this unserious chinese sellers are operating there is hard to find real good seed sellers on ebay…

Yes rarepalmseeds.com I know this company and have often bougt seeds from.
This company is in germany and not so far from me. Because Germany is a neighbourcountry of the country I am living.

I love to sow out seeds. But to germinate seeds from Musa ingens I don't know what is the key…. Also when sowing out more than 100 pieces on different way… the same problem with a lot of other species from Musa and Ensete perrieri no chance???
It seems to be like a mystery.

Good quotes have had with balbisiana and Ensete ventricosum they germinate mostly whithout problems
Really frustrating are the high quote of no germination in different Musa species seeds because they wheren't not cheap…also shipping only from germany about border to me I find expensive

I thought before buy again ingens seeds maybe somewhere from this forum knew something about this seller or had bought maybe a plant from it. Because seller ship with USPS and is from Puerto Rico.

The function of searching I have tried, because have not founded something about that.

Thanks very much and sorry for my bad English!
