![]() are distinct species correct?
does anyone have a picture of Musa Thai Black in flower? can someone explain to me the difference, Musa Thai Black is a newer introduction that seems to be getting alot of praise (I bought one recently), cant figure out what features it posses over M. Balbisiana (which has a beautiful unique flower)

![]() Musa balbisiana (thai black banana)
found a thread that answered some of my questions. Going-Bananas has both "Thai Black" and M. balbisiana, wonder how they differentiate the two

![]() I didn't know there was a difference. Maybe that is part of the problem with mine not having much black on the pseudostem. Maybe I've got "the other one".

![]() So-called Thai Black (M.balbisiana variety) is native to Indonesia. It has grown there for a long time. I had good possibilitie to study it in my recent trip to Indonesia.

![]() I've got a Black Thai. It sure has the dark markings on the p-stem and petioles. It's beautiful. It grows rather fast as well.
