Re: E.maurelii w/pup
Are they siamese twins (mom & pup... I know.. I couldn't resist) or planted next to each other as seperate plants?

Re: E.maurelii w/pup
I believe they are twins, which is why I bought them. I just had to see if it would pup more. I will have to take some pics when I dig it up for winter. They act very attached to each other. I might pull them back up tomorrow and see what is going on exactly.

Re: E.maurelii w/pup
Wow very odd.. but cool too.
I was going to leave mine together for the year, but I really want to dig it back up and see if it is a true pup, or just two plants.

Re: E.maurelii w/pup
Two for the price of one! I got one a few years back too, and divided it, then massacred them(tried making pups) when they had grown to 15 gallon pots.
If anyones interested the seed dealer of golden lotus, has Ensete maurelli seeds listed again. I contacted him a couple years ago and he said he was attempting to get plants from the US to make seeds to sell, but his plants rotted(maybe too hot?) Anyways, maybe he has seeds now since it's listed? http://chmai.loxinfo.co.th/~goldenlt/prod02.htm |

Re: E.maurelii w/pup
I also have twins; they act as one plant.
I just was re-planting them (here in Oregon), when I noticed what I think is a bunch of pups. I have never seen them live before, so when camera starts working, I will upload an image or two. If they are pups, is it okay to separate now, or should I wait for winter? |

Re: E.maurelii w/pup
This last month the Ensete really took off. Now reaching over the 6' fence.
With the heat and no rain this summer really did a number on the EE. Next year the dark guys are going to a more shaded location.
