Re: Black Balbisiana
If I missed leaving anyone feedback please let me know! It's hard to match real names with usernames sometimes and so if I didn't leave you feedback and you ordered these, just leave me feedback and I will reciprocate!
This was a lot of fun and a whirlwind actually but they are all gone and I hope to do it again sometime. The group order was mainly an experiment but it worked and I look forward to bringing new rare bananas to you guys in the future. There will be many more :) Hopefully all in the future will be as beautiful if not more than the Black Thai! Hard to compare though, each type of banana plant has its own wonderful attributes. |
Re: Black Balbisiana
Mine traveled all the way to California and they look great! Thanks again!

Re: Black Balbisiana
I am kind of new here, but I got one of these beauties (thank you much if I didn't already say that), and my question (if it is already here somewhere forgive me because I am still wading through all the posts) is what is the best way to increase your varieties? I looked at ordering tissue cultures, get a whole lot of one variety (might be fun as I have a new greenhouse to play with), but really looking for the best source for different banana plants. There is always Ebay I know, but I tend to have bad experiences with things I order from Ebay, sometimes hard to get what I paid for, sometimes not exactly what I think it should be). So what do you do? Tissue culture, just buy one at a time till you get them all?

That's how I started, and then I also started trading my pups for varieties I didn't have. I cut 12 pups today (5 different varieties), planted a few for backup, and have 5 for sale or trades. I'm trying to trade up to an AeAE...Kinda like the One Red Paperclip Has anyone got an AeAe pup and want to trade one? PM me please. See it's just that easy! :woohoonaner: :2623: |

Re: Black Balbisiana
Ok on that note, anyone who has any extras that won't break the bank, will buy them (not bum them) and give them a good home to boot. :) So you are saying you all mostly buy them from people here on this message board? I am not sure what is my best source. They are plentiful on Ebay but I tend to get burned when I fool with Ebay. Congrats on the black pup, isn't it exciting when they do that? :jump:
