What is this banana?
Ok here is the deal, I am in Atlanta-GA-USA zone 7a. I have Musa basjoo in my backyard but I also have a mysterious banana that was given to me which is much taller than Musa basjoo. The guy that gave it to me has one that must be over 15 feet tall.
It does winter fine with some mulch in my zone 7a. Can anyone tell me what it might be as I want to order more. I have tried to transplant one pup with no luck. Thanks Pat |

Re: What is this banana?
Pot the pups up in containers and put in shade for a couple of weeks till you see another leaf start to resume growth. But it is a little late in the year.

Re: What is this banana?
Once the leaves start emerging again, that means the root system is reestablished. I usually wait a couple more weeks just to make sure, and then start moving the pots into brighter sunlight so it wont burn. Then you can plant out if you want.

Re: What is this banana?
Where in Atlanta are you located? I get down there a lot and would love to see your plants.
