Prices in the UK are high as the market isn't the same as in the US. However, some plants which are TC are becoming common. i.e. Musa Florida. It's now very available, I'd still say it's rare but nowhere near its rarity in 2019-2021. it is all over eBay. I'm always tempted to buy TC but they are too easy to kill, especially when our conditions aren't ideal along with an energy crisis.

but good buy!

Those prices don't seem too bad but what's really important is starting with a quality rhizome.

These Cold Hardy types are really easy to root even when starting with a nub or small cutting, they're inexpensive but you don't know how variegated they are until they start producing leaves.

True, all we have over here is tiny TC, I'm not even sure we have rhizomes for sale in the UK.

It's difficult to know precisely because of how apical dominance controls the growth of offshoots. It's a G1/G2 or mother plant/daughter so it's probably 2 to 3 months. If it was a G1/G2/G3 or mother plant/daughter/granddaughter an offshoot that size would be 2 to 3 weeks. Controlling apical dominance is one of the cool things about macropropagation.

Wow stunning plant. I do not recognize it as one being in the industry. Is it your creation? Does it have a name?

It's a dwarf from the Pisang Awak subgroup. Many members call all the dwarfs in this subgroup "Dwarf Namwa" which works fine if they're only growing one but it would get confusing for members growing multiple dwarf Pisang Awak cultivars.
