Re: Too tall for space
Good problem to have in the winter
This is what I started to do because of plant height and have had good results. I cut most of my plants leaves in half when I bring them in my basement. This does two things.....cut down on plant height and decrease the plants footprint (on the ceiling) in my limited area, this also lets more light in for the "understory" plants. This seems to work for me. Currently my Orinocos are the tallest at 12 feet with all the rest at 4 to 8 feet. The understory plants are colocasia , alocasia brugs, Sdc's and assorted ferns. Re: Too tall for space
We cut leaves back, just to get them through tbe door Mike. I have been clipping leaves so the shorter plants can get light. Problem is the PS is almost 9 feet, there just isnt room for the leaf to get out of The PS. That big dog will winter outdoors next year. It does have some nice pups on it that are lookinh good so i guess the pup leaves are keeping it going for now. Tony , thought of cutting a hole in the ceiling, but it was -16 here last week.

Re: Too tall for space
You can cut the stem just make the cut half way up if you wish, you will only lose plant height and your plant will recover at the next new leaf . Many people do it .
Also by cutting the stem it might induce a few pups and you can move the cut plant out of the way and put another plant in its place under the grow lights. Win win |
