Default This is supose to be a musa bosjoo but I think its a blood leaf

I recently planted a what was supose to be a Musa Bosjoo but I can plainly see burgandy splats on the tiny leaf. Pic is in my gallery. Should I email the mail order co. and say I believe I was sent the wrong thing? Thanks, bkhollosy

Hey,
I don't think it is Basjoo, either.

It could be Zebrina (Blood Leaf) but the red specks are common on many varieties of juvenile bananas. Post another picture in a week or 2, and you will know for sure.

The red dots are common on lots of bananas, but not the basjoo...you have the wrong banana.

I would contact to Company and let them know that they may have sent the wrong one ..A reputable Co. wouldn't ask you to return it...WOOHOO Bonus Banana!!! LOL.. I have a handful of NOIDS they are just as special as the ones I can identify...

Hopefully those are just discolorations on the new thin leaf, that happens sometimes. But my first impression was that it's probably red splotches, and not basjoo.

Maybe not Zebrina either. This is a strange picture with the angle, the hill, and the shadow, but you can see what the underside of Zebrina (blood leaf banana) looks like.
