I recently planted a what was supose to be a Musa Bosjoo but I can plainly see burgandy splats on the tiny leaf. Pic is in my gallery. Should I email the mail order co. and say I believe I was sent the wrong thing? Thanks, bkhollosy

Hey,
I don't think it is Basjoo, either. It could be Zebrina (Blood Leaf) but the red specks are common on many varieties of juvenile bananas. Post another picture in a week or 2, and you will know for sure. Welcome to bananas.org!

The red dots are common on lots of bananas, but not the basjoo...you have the wrong banana.

I would contact to Company and let them know that they may have sent the wrong one ..A reputable Co. wouldn't ask you to return it...WOOHOO Bonus Banana!!! LOL.. I have a handful of NOIDS they are just as special as the ones I can identify...

Hopefully those are just discolorations on the new thin leaf, that happens sometimes. But my first impression was that it's probably red splotches, and not basjoo.
