I have read several posts about protecting Musa Basjoo using straw mulch. Is that as good for protecting any Banana P-stem as regular mulch and leaves?
Trying to do some advance frost/winter protection planning. Thanks |

I will have to follow this thread...
I now have 10 basjoo pups + the big mother plant! Ime going to try to dig up some and put it in the cool basement (bareroot), others put in pots and grow and maby put one in the basement, and others using the method above.

For my Basjoos I had the worst winter in memory here in Dallas and all I used for them was 2 inches of mulch on top of some Burlap and it worked fine.
My concern is more the less hardy varieties I am trying this year. Gran Nain, Ice Cream and maybe Gold Finger. |
