What is the difference between leaving them in the pot to overwinter and taking them out of it and knocking the dirt off?..Dont both go dorminant?

Re: storing for winter
I was wondering the same thing Stumpy, I don't un-pot my Plumeria and it's done fine for 10+ years. Don't see why it wouldn't work but, I'm not sure it would either.:waving:

Re: storing for winter
Just my opinion but, if you leave them in the pot, make sure the soil is VERY dry or the roots will rot. It's easier to dry the roots by taking it out of pot & shaking dirt off.
When the plant is dormant, it's not taking up any water. So, any moisture in soil will just lay there & rot the roots. |
