Default Some thoughts on the coming winter and my bananas

I have some pretty tall banana plants from the first year I used heavy frost cloth for the week of freezing weather we have gotten over the past few years. I have the frost cloth still but it did get wet and caused most of the leaves to die on the plants. They looked very dead until I peeled off the dead layer and found green growing underneath. They took off after that so this year I was thinking of adding a clear tarp on top of the frost cloth to mitigate the moisture and then I found mention of these Charley's Greenhouse & Garden Value Heating Cable 48 ft P5010 48 and am now wondering about wrapping one around the psuedostem but on top of the frost cloth to really help with the freezing weather. Has anyone done anything like this ?

There are some forum threads of members wrapping their stems with older style Christmas lights(no led not enough heat) and insulating for the cold days.
Cost seems low also.

And an internet /You tube search will show you how to properly do it.

I do not do it in my zone but the outcome seems positive for warmer zones like yours

Some of the plants looked kinda neat all lit up.
