Question question on storing basjoos in garage.

I have a couple questions. I'm in Southern ohio and have 10 potted basjoos that I'm wanting to store in my garage or basement for next season. They range from 2-7 feet in height.Any one store their potted basjoos in their garage? I have 2 small windows up high that gives the garage a little light. should I cut the leaves off for storage. I thought about cutting them off just below the bottom leaves for storage but not sure.My garage never hits freezing. I hate to put them in the basement since they are so large. Any advice/help would be appreciated.

How cold do you think it might get in your garage? If it wont get down to freezing maybe I would try not cutting them back at all and see what happens. You could always trim any damaged portions later.Maybe you could add some supplemental heat with a cheap electric heater just enough to take the edge off if you're really concerned...... Guess it depends how crazy you want to get. One thing I would advise would be getting them of the direct cold of the floor maybe with a palette or a piece of foam insulation.

It can get down to zero in the winter but not very often. We get plenty of below 32 degree nights. I'm guessing it gets around 40-45 in there. I have a separate room in the garage with a heater in it. That room leaks enough heat out that It never gets freezing in there. Have any of you done them like this? 15 years ago, I a cavendish type of banana that I would chop off and dig up and store in the basement (not potted). I planted it in the spring and away it went growing. Some seem to think on this site that basjoos are hard to winter over this way.
