We got down to 29.8F last night. Definitely cold. Woke up to a frost on my front yard. I didn't even want to look around the yard out of fear. Turns out the only plants toasted were my bananas and my babaco papaya. I didn't cover anything, but tonight I may need to do something if I want to save them.
Any advice on keeping them alive?

I covered some citrus, but not the large trees. I am heading out right now to see what the damage is and what I can do to help them all along.

This is the first time I'll do this so I am crossing my fingers if I can save most of my bananas. The small ones I am covering them with plastic pots.
If tonight gets down to 24F will my mature Ice Cream P-stem die? (unprotected)

I feel so bad for all of you. When my plants are out (& planted inground) & they call for frost, I find old blankets, sheets, towels & wrap the p stem. The leaves had all died but the plant was fine. I sure hope at least some of your plants live.

It's 1AM and 33.5, looks like we get off easy tonight. AND THIS IS THE LAST OF IT! Since Warm air is coming in... good riddance! It's like a nuke went off last night though from the damage for the one night

That one isn't my house so there is slight variation, but it's close enough. It's 28.1 now, so it's dropped 2+ degrees in the last hour. Not sure what is happening. I'm hoping the humidity rises and saves me Come on!! 82% keep going up! Well what happens, happens. Very scary since we still have 5 hours to go in this night!

I should have cut the leafs off and wrapped them up, but I didn't... Sometimes it only gets down to 30 for the year and it's not enough for all the extra stuff. So I was caught off guard We'll find out how tough they are

It shows now 24.9 but the official at the home thermometer is 27.1. Either way, this is unexplored territory. I took out the garbage and it feels sooo cold, I don't know how anything could survive.

Who thinks my unprotected 11' pstem ice creams are still alive?? any guesses?

It got down to 27F last night. The lantanas got burned and that's always a bad sign. All the bananas are green with no damage thanks to christmas lights and frost blankets

You were smart not to use freezepruf.... We got down to like 23.4 or something... ugh and the first night of 29F of this, I was sick. Now looking back, I would gladly take 29 degrees
